SALT: Take in less than 5 grams of salt per day (less than 1 teaspoon). Replace salt with other options – surf the web for proven research of healthy replacements. Examples are low sodium soya or Worcester sauce, low sodium balsamic vinegar, herbs, organic products.
We still do need sodium in our blood though. The recommended sodium blood level for adults is 135 to 145 mEq/L or milliequivalents per liter.
There is also Potassium salts that have up to 70% less sodium than standard table salt.
